Sharif Ebrahim is a Principal at Kearns & West, where he specializes in
consensus building, collaborative planning and public involvement and
outreach. He has 12 years experience mediating cases and facilitating
public meetings, stakeholder advisory meetings, technical workshops,
policy and planning processes on dozens of environmental, energy, water,
land use and development, telecom and Internet issues.
Sharif has advised academic, Fortune 500, nonprofit and government
clients, including the Nasdaq Stock Market, Santa Clara University,
AT&T, California Department of Water Resources, California Bay-Delta
Authority, Sacramento Municipal Utility District and the Electric Power
Research Institute. He recently facilitated a series of agreements
between state and federal agencies, water interests, local governments
and nonprofits to secure a locally-backed federal license for the State
of California's largest energy project.
Formerly, he worked for a state senator and directed two Bay Area
offices for a statewide political consulting group in California. Sharif
co-authored a negotiation training curriculum with the Consensus
Building Institute (affiliated with Harvard-MIT) and attended UC Davis
and received a BA in Political Science from UC Berkeley, including
coursework at Berkeley's Survey Research Center.
